Time management is considered an essential skill in today’s world not just for business, but in our personal lives as well. During the course of the day we are usually performing several different tasks related to several different projects. Juggling between everything can be at times, tricky.
First, I feel I must point out that any way you slice it, there are only 24 hours in a day and every second of those hours are constant and moving forward despite our efforts to “manage” or slow them down. So technically, Time Management is a myth for you can’t really manage time itself. However, you can mange yourself and what you do with that time.
One of the easiest steps to take is to identify not all of the things you need to do and when, but rather where during the day you are wasting time. Are there processes that you do that can be refined? Are there simple time consuming activities during your day that really add up that can be eliminated or would be best if grouped together and worked on either on a daily, weekly or even monthly basis?
Identifying where we sometimes “waste” time and make even minor adjustments can yield big results in time saving thus creating the illusion we are experts at Time Management and in turn, make our days more productive. |
